He is still on a ventilator, but much reduced oxygen, his son Kevin reported. Maybe off it all together tomorrow which is very good, totally breathing on his own again. A little improvement on alertness which is very good. Thinking back to Sally's first report, the first 5 to 7 days were told to be crucial. Tonight (Monday 2-17-14) is 5 days, the first critical hurdle.
As of Tuesday the 18th - Kevin had this to say...
"The neurologist came in last night and he pretty much seemed to pass her exam completely - and even smiled when she asked if he would smile. Of course, he won't smile for mom or anyone else, but that may say more about how much we're annoying him than his actual physical or mental state. In any event, he is still moving in the right direction, and I will continue to try to keep everyone posted. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers."
