Our 60th Poem

In Honor of Our 60th by Phil Kokandy
SIXTY YEARS

It's really quite wondrous,

We should give ourselves cheers,

And applause that is thunderous,

For friendships of 60 years.

A few of us see wrinkles,

In the mirror that appears,

But our memory has sprinkles,

Of friendships lasting 60 years.

We've been to many places,

Changed jobs and changed careers,

And we've run a lot of races,

When you last for 60 years.

It's always best to age with grace,

Whether life brings joy or tears,

For no matter what you face,

You've got friends of 60 years.

Remember classmates who have passed,

We'll always hold them dear,

In our memories they'll forever last,

Even though they are not here.

So now's the time for celebration,

With all our 65'ers peers,

And contemplate our graduation,

Can it REALLY BE 60 years???
