The light has begun to shrink back from the day so that once again we are reminded we have come to another autumnal equinox so must now begin our journey through the harvest of fall and the hidden gestation of life in the course of the winter.
Our gardens are giving up their treasures to sustain us through the frigid days to come while our flowers, both regal and demure, defiantly raise their faces to the diminished rays of the sun.
Fall has come with a heartfelt sense of appreciation for the multitude of blessings we have received as well as gratitude for those many blessings to come.

Our Class Poet Laureate Phil Kokandy offers this reflection on the season:
The Grant
Grant me a dawn bursting with sun,
Grant me a morning to get things done,
Grant me a noon of ginger and ale,
Grant me an after where I seldom fail,
Grant me an evening of flat, strolling miles,
Grant me a night of dreams filled with smiles.
Grant me a prayer that comes from the heart,
Grant me the courage to know how to start,
Grant me the strength to skip and to hop,
Grant me the wisdom to know when to stop,
Grant me a friend who I can call true,
And grant me an Autumn of heavenly hue.
