Our BNI Class is Twice Blessed
Thursday, May 29, 2008
Classmate Dan Zurawski was featured in an article in the May 25, 2008, issue of the St. Thomas More church bulletin in Munster. Classmate Ed Shultz is a member of Our Lake of Grace parish in Highland. On May 28, at a special Mass at St. Bridget Church in Hobart, IN, both men received the Ministry of Acolyte, one of the final moments leading up to Ordination to the Diaconate. As an Acolyte, they will work at the altar, preparing the altar for Mass, distributing the Eucharist, and purifying the vessels after Mass.
This fall, Dan and Ed will receive Candidacy, which is a Rite of the Church which states that the man is acceptable for ordination. Next summer, 2009, both will be ordained as deacons for the Diocese of Gary, as Dan says, “God willing.” And Ed tells us, “Dan and I are in the same deacon class to be ordained next year. Almost six years ago we were both surprised to see each other walk into class.”
