Hopeful Word Received from Halcarz’ Surgery
Thursday, May 29, 2008
With our well wishes and hopeful prayers, John Halcarz recently entered Community Hospital in Munster for colon surgery. Risky as it was, given his heart condition and diabetes, after days of only ice chips and later popsicles, John was looking forward, past the pain, to the day he would be able to go home.
The happy day came as John writes to us, “I was finally released from the hospital on July 4. The surgery was on June 25. I'm a bit sore right now, but it is great to be home again. So far, so good. I will see my four doctors in the next two weeks. No driving and just take it easy for 2-3 weeks. I guess they kept about about a foot of my colon, but the indications are that they got it before it turned into cancer. I'll try to respond more as I feel better, but for now, please thank all the BNI Grads again for their kind thoughts and prayers!!! It helps keep me going!!!”
If you wish to keep the words of encouragement and cheer flowing to John, his e-mail is dhalcarz@earthlink.net. His home address is 9614 Jackson Ct., Crown Point, IN 46307.
Yes, John, hurry and get well! We hear the fish are biting and there’s a fishing pole waiting at classmate friend Bob (Kudnowski) Kaye’s pond! A little bit of summer sunshine and some old H.S. stories sounds like a healthy recipe to recuperation.
