Funeral Arrangements for Classmate John Halcarz

John J. Halcarz, age 61, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Highland, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Diana (nee Davis); three children: Jill Halcarz of Crown Point, IN, Beth (Keith) Tokoly of Highland, IN and Andy Halcarz of Chicago, IL; many cousins. Mr. Halcarz was preceded in death by his parents: John and Mary Halcarz.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11:30 AM at the Kuiper Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. Burial, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN. A prayer service will be held at 5 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

 

Mr. Halcarz was a graduate of Bishop Noll Institute, Class of 1965. He attained his law degree in 1972 from Valparaiso University. Mr. Halcarz was employed for over 30 years as a private attorney and deputy prosecutor. He was a Magistrate for Judge Sheila Moss at the Lake County Court Building in Crown Point, IN. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and his many pets. Memorial contributions may be made in John's loving memory to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society. Mr. Halcarz was a devoted husband and father.
