Teri Perz Loses Her Mother (Posted 8/29/08)

Many of us remember Mrs. Perz as a very sweet, welcoming and generous lady from our days at Noll.  God rest her well.

Frances Catherine Perz (nee Rymarczyk), age 88, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at Gateway Gardens in Poway, CA.

She is survived by her daughter, Therese (late Richard) Cerveny of San Diego, CA; her son, Edmund (Christine) Perz of Mt. Carroll, IL; five grandchildren: Arthur (Karen) Cerveny of San Diego, CA, Kevin (Brandy) Cerveny of Payette, ID, Holly Ostroske of Temecula, CA, Nathan (Carol) Perz of St. Louis, MO and Matthew Perz of Racine, WI; one step-grandson, Richard (Rhonda) Cerveny of Apple Valley, CA;

six great grandchildren: Alexandra and Aidan Cerveny, Zene Cerveny, Elyse and Carter Ostroske and Samantha Perz; four step great grandchildren: Anthony, Aleesha, Jake and Stella Cerveny 

sister, Josephine (Frank) Owczarzak of Hammond; brother, Stanley (Imogene) Rymarczyk of Lansing; sister-in-law, Helen (late Frank) Rymarczyk of Hessville; brother-in- law, Chester (late Bernice) Czubala of Cedar Lake; and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Edmund P. Perz in 2002; sisters: Stella (late Anthony) Urbanczyk, Jeanette (late John) Majchrzak, Mary (late Donald) DeRolf, Balbina (late Vance) Kornas and Bernice (Chester) Czubala; brothers: Frank (Helen) Rymarczyk and Marion Rymarczyk.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Anthony & Dziadowicz Funeral Home, 4404 Cameron Avenue, Hammond, IN (two blocks east of Hohman, one block north of Gostlin) with a 12:00 noon Mass at St. Casimir Church. Rev. William O'Toole officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation on Saturday morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Perz was a lifelong Hammond area resident, prior to moving to California in 2005. She was born July 13, 1920 in East Chicago, IN, the daughter of Frank and Mary Rymarczyk who preceded her in death.She married Edmund P. Perz on July 13, 1944 in Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
