Mother of Classmate Janet Potasnik Has Passed Away (Posted 12/29/08)

Ann M. Potasnik (nee Kovach), age 89, of Dyer, IN passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008. She is survived by her daughters: Ruth (Charles) Mriska of Oak Forest, IL and Jan Potasnik of Miller Beach, IN; brother, Tom (late Mary) Kovach of Whiting, IN. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Potasnik; parents: Stephen and Anna Kovach; sister, Helen Magurany; brothers: John, Steve and Albert Kovach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM from St. Maria Goretti Church, Dyer, IN. Interment, St. Mary Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. and Wednesday from 9:30-10 AM at the church. Ann was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, S.P.A.R.C. and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She was a devoted wife and mother, whose smiling face and sweet, gentle spirit touched all who ever met her. She will be forever loved and missed.
