There Was Never Any Doubt! (Posted 2/4/09)

How does that saying go, “Never say never!” That’s the spirit that Classmate Elaine (Engle) Bielefeld exemplified as she received her final grade report. It’s now “official” - - Elaine has completed all the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a Professional Communications minor. Yes, she is officially a January, 2009 honors graduate of St. Mary of the Woods College and will participate in the May 2 graduation ceremonies in Terre Haute, IN.
As fate would have it, her son Christopher's wife, Beth, also earned her teaching degree from SMWC and will walk next to her. For those who know Elaine closely, she’s apologizing for all the fuss, “for putting up with my whining and my obsession with school,” but, to that we say, thank you for proving that at any age we can attain whatever we are willing to work hard for.
Working, raising a family of eight children and enjoying nine adorable grandchildren, tending to her wonderful mother (where it is obvious Elaine gets much of her spunk), AND carrying the college school load for years, we are all so proud of you, Elaine, and happy for your accomplishment! And, as Elaine asks, “please pray for me as I join the ranks of the job seekers in this most peculiar, but at the same time, most exciting moment in history.” Congrats may be forwarded to Elaine at ebeely@hotmail.com.
