Sunday, September 21, 2008
With saddened hearts we have learned of the death of classmate Colleen (Kelly) Morgan’s husband, Arthur Lloyd Morgan, Jr., after an intense battle of 1-1/2 years with leukemia. He was born on October 26, 1944, and died on April 13, 2009. His burial will be held privately. A public memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 400 Whitetail Circle, Mt. Zion, IL at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Our Lady of the Holy Spirit building fund or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion will be assisting the family with services.
Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend. He is survived by his wife Colleen, daughters Ann Marie and Jennifer, son-in-law George, sisters Suzanne (Buckley) and Ruth (Matter), brother James, and numerous nieces and nephews; he was thrilled to know his soon-to-arrive grandson would survive him as well. Born in Chicago, IL, the son of Arthur and Marie (Ruf) Morgan Sr., Arthur spent a lifetime serving his nation, his community, and his family. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a helicopter pilot for 27 years – both in active duty and as a member of the Illinois National Guard. A member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, he served in many capacities including parish council and Knights of Columbus. A man of great humor and honor, he served his family and friends with love. To say he will be greatly missed is grossly understated. Obituary written by family members. Online guest book at www.legacy.com/herald-review/Obituaries.asp.
