Susan Laurinec of Whiting, IN sends us an update on her son's recent surgery:

"On December 18, 2009 Chris underwent an 11-1/2 hour surgery. The doctors were able to save all his own veins and arteries, but had to remove hundreds of lump nodes and some muscle in his back. The good news is he is cancer free!

He is recovering very nicely, but it will take time. The doctors think up to 4 - 6 months. The chemo he underwent was very hard on his lungs so they are trying to improve his breathing.  He has numbness in his thighs and right foot which could be permanent or not.

We are all happy that Chris will not have to undergo chemo again. Thank you everyone for all your prayers.  Love Susan"
