GOD IS WITH US
When times are trying, When faith seems weak,
When our teams are on a losing streak,
When smiles elude us, No jokes to tell,
God is with us....Emmanuel.
When relatives visit, chaos ensues,
The youngsters scream, The oldsters snooze,
The turkey's cooking, Can't hide that smell,
God is with us....Emmanuel.
With Black Friday gone, With budgets shot,
Must find THE tree, Can't spend a lot,
Ornament boxes... Is that a bell?
God is with us....Emmanuel.
The lights are tangled, the red one's out,
Go find the stable, No need to shout!
The star's still shining, It casts a spell,
God is with us....Emmanuel.
The tree is finished, the presents wrapped,
Our patience wavers, Our energy zapped,
Midnight approaches, The Church looks swell!
God is with us....Emmanuel.
Each Christmas Day goes by so fast,
We need recall the point, at last,
Remember why... Remember well,
God is with us....Emmanuel!
