Proud Papa Jim Gajda Is All Smiles (Posted 6/28/10)

This is a composite of several articles about Jim’s daughter Ashley:

 

Ashley Gajda, 25, daughter of Jim and Chris Gajda of Munster, IN graduated May 8, 2010 from The Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis with a J.D. degree. She was a recipient of the Glenn D. Peters Law School Scholarship for 2009/2010. She graduated in 2007 from St. Mary of the Woods College, with a B.S. degree in Psychology. Ashley completed an externship at the Julian Center, a non-profit organization which provides assistance to survivors of domestic violence in family, consumer, and immigration law cases. She will take the Indianan Bar Exam in July 2010, and plans to continue her education toward a M.B.A.  at the Keller School of Management.

 

As a first-year law student in 2007, Ashley was awarded a tuition scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation. The New York based organization provides educational support for students of Polish descent. She was also a recipient of a Glenn D. Peters Law School Scholarship provided by First Midwest Bank and a law school scholarship provided by the Lake County Bar Association.

 Her success was foretold as she had previously graduated summa cum laude from The Woods. At commencement, she received the Maud Helm Rockwell Scholarship Medal, given for academic excellence to the student with the highest grade point average in the graduating senior class. Ashley was inducted into Kappa Gamma Pi, the national Catholic college graduate honor society, in recognition of her scholastic record and demonstrated leadership and service. She also was elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2007. She completed internships with Vigo County LifeLine, a crisis/referral hotline, and the Council on Domestic Abuse, a shelter for domestic abuse/violence victims.
