Mary Ellen Hughes, beloved wife of James L. Hughes; loving mother of Trevor Cunningham; dear sister of John and David Schreiner; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Cremains interred at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her loving memory.
Mary Ellen's cousin and our classmate Paul Schreiner informed us of the details. It seems Mary Ellen delayed in seeing a doctor about a lump in her breast. When she finally had it checked, the cancer was too advanced and she died in two months. Showing the resolve and dedication she displayed at Noll she continued working until her employer had to tell her it was time to quit. She was another who made our class the finest. God rest you well Mary.
